This sphere is made from poplar wood. The finished sculpture has an shell which is a beutiful pearl night blue and an inner tunnel sprayed in matt white. The blue is a polyurethane based paint and is highly reflective in character.
I am interesed in creating internal realties on solid objects and presenting optical illusions to the viewer. In this sculpture the eye wants to seperate out the tunnel from the sphere and can almost be lead into seeiing the tunnel as an independent entity.
