The beautiful, elegant snow leopard, Himalayan people call'Gods Pet', now sadly an endangered species. They live across the Himalayas, ranging across into Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Nepal, India & Russia, where there are thought to be as few as 2.500 mature adults, struggling to survive due to habitat, diminishing prey & poachers. The photograph for my portrait was taken on a visit to my local zoo, where it seems sadly will be the only way to see these beautiful animals if help isn't given. The portrait is drawn in best quality'artists coloured pencils', on a pale blue DalerRowney mountboard. On the sale of this portrait I will be donating to the cause for conservation of the snow leopard.
