Pastel
16 X 20 2011 «Joy» is one of the first in my series of original pastels showing yoga poses. The model is in tree pose. It seemed so ecstatic to me that I tried to capture that quality. I work--slowly--with a pastel stick, my finger, and an eraser. The light color is the paper. I put the pastel onto the paper as shadow.
