Sometimes we see these decaying industrial relics, huge sites where industry once flourished, gradually and beautifully decomposing under the irresistible forces of nature. This painting depicts a decaying steel and concrete structure, once the strongest nature defying materials that humans could produce, being virtually eaten alive. With the passing of time single blades of grass pierce through concrete like needles through butter, flowers spring forth through the tear in the sky (the torn ozone) symbolizing its healing, poppies, simultaneously representing war and peace, have made an appearence. Inevitably the natural world will flourish again once we with our modern cities and megastructures pass into history.
