This is painted on red paper, with heavily diluted oil so the background colour can shine through. The result is a scene which is evocative of sunset or sunrise. The image is taken from a photograph of a road in the mountains of Cyprus, though as with many of my paintings, the scene is generic and can really be anywhere the viewer wishes it to be.
