Plein Aire Painting of the tops of farm style houses built in the late 19th Century that sit across from a wheat field.
On the other side of the wheat field is the Darlington Volunteer Fire House. This gave me a perfect place to set up to paint outside. I only have about a two hour window to get as much information as possible for the painting. On this day storm clouds came out blocking the sun and I packed up hoping to come back the next day. The next day when I got to the parking lot of the Volunteer Fire House I saw that the field had been mowed down. This was a good thing and a bad thing. Good in that I could see more of the houses and put in a bit more detail, but the field I just had to make it up from memory.
