Maryland has some of the most beautiful scenery. Sometimes I get a chance to paint plein aire - but sometimes not. This is when having my camera on hand helps. Whenever I am driving somewhere I always take my camera. I never know when something will strike me a a possible good painting. This scene is a composite of seeing white geese in flight and a field that was still covered with morning frost and the trees in the distance still in fog. It was in my studio that I began to work to capture the foggy scene that I knew the geese were what I needed to complete the image.
