I have always been inspired by flowers. But Peonies hold a particular place of interest for me. Not only are they a beautiful almost'showy'flower they also have stories and myths attached to them. My favorite of these was told to me by my grandfather, the story of a nymph named Paeonia. Aphrodite became mad when she caught the nymph caught flirting with Apollo. In shame, Paeonia blushed, enraged, Aphrodite turned her into the flower we know today maintaining her lustful and bashful colors.
