The subject in the painting portrays what one feels like at that very moment to be free - but to truly be free one has a price to pay, and it seldom comes without shedding something; without losing something. One has to bleed. The use of Acrylic and impasto was applied to the support in this case linen, to create, to emphasize and give life to the body of the subject. The brilliance of the colours intensify the subjects passionate feeling toward the outcome.
